99p Stores and Poundland Deal to be completed by the end of the month
The merger of 99p stores with their long term rivals Poundland is expected to be complete by the end of the month. This comes after speculation about whether the Competition and Markets Authority would allow the merger at all. However it was provisionally decided on the 25th August, that despite the two companies being each other’s main rivals they would still face significant competition from others including B&M Bargains and Wilkinsons.
This will be welcomed by many within both companies who will see this as a chance to expand their offering and take on some of the more established providers.
