Congratulations to LLS on winning Echo Business of the year!
With stiff competition we narrowly missed out on this years Liverpool Echo Business of the Year. We were delighted to have just been shortlisted and wish LLS all the best in the years to come.
The winners were announced at a glittering black-tie ceremony at the historic St George’s Hall in Liverpool on Thursday 18th June.
12 excited Access Pointers were dressed to the nines for the black-tie affair and enjoyed a delicious five course meal in magnificent surroundings in the heart of Liverpool City Centre.
It was the first time we had been considered for the Echo Business Awards and we were absolutely delighted to be honoured in the shortlist for 'Business Of The Year' for the Merseyside area.
LLS are are North West based company founded in 2008 focussing on providing innovative programs to engage young people in sports and coaching, they've had phenomenal growth and are doing great work inspiring young people in the North of England, Northern Ireland and North Wales.

2015 has been a transformational year for Access Point. It started in 2014 when plans were made and delivered that would have profound effects for Access Point.
We trialled the new “Access Point Away Days” program that involved ten colleagues going to the Arctic Circle for five days and undertaking a variety of tough physical and mental tasks. After this success a second ground of nine intrepid volunteer colleagues are going to Vietnam to build a washroom and toilet block up in the mountains for underprivileged children.
We also made the decision to leave our home after 15 happy years and move to new offices where we could spread our wings and provide great facilities for all of the team. It is fair to say that our new office space is quite remarkable and a great deal of planning and investment was required to turn the old Magistrates Courts building in Southport into a set of offices that will allow growth and provide a unique working environment. We moved in in January; on time…although not on budget, and are now reaping the benefits.
2014/15 proved to be our best year since forming in 1997, both for turnover and profitability. 2014 was always planned as a year of consolidation and 2015 looks like becoming a year of growth. Above LFL sales in the 1st two quarters of this year gives me belief that all of the disruption, investment and innovation is paying off and helping Access Point and its team to fulfil its potential.
We are not a company that is at the forefront of technological innovation, nor one that prides itself on a fantastic catalogue of products. Sure, we have a stable of great retail names that we support and work with;
However, what makes a real difference and allows us to stand head and shoulders above our peers and competition is the people that work within our company.
We have 38 colleagues at Access Point and every one of them is important to us, we don’t just say this in the hope that it catches on and people believe it – we live it every day.
26% of our team have been with us for longer than 10 years, the average number of years with Access Point? 5.8 years – these figures mean something to us and they mean a great deal to our customers too. We invest in training, we invest in facilities, we invest in the right tools for the job, and we invest for the long term.
It’s wonderful that external companies, especially of the calibre of judges involved, recognise this and feel comfortable to shortlist Access Point for the Liverpool John Lennon Airport Business of the Year; it just goes to show that the hard work and dedication of the team help aid our growth plans and attract further great staff to our wonderful company.
