New stores for The Co-Op in Wales

The Co-Op Store Front

As part of the Co-Operative Groups turnaround, it is investing £1.5m to open three stores over three weeks across North Wales. The combined stores will bring more than 50 new jobs to the areas. The new stores opened in Llanrug 12 November followed by the launch of a branch in Pensarm on 17 November. The final store will open in Ffordd Penrhwylfa, Prestatyn in early December.

Speaking about it, Steve Gale, the regional manager for the Co-Op in Wales said: "The Co-operative is investing to transform and grow its convenience business as shopping habits change and consumers increasingly buy what they need, when they need it, locally. We are also investing to enhance the instore experience while lowering the price of everyday essentials.

"We are confident that the stores will be a real asset to the community, enabling shoppers to pick up delicious food conveniently and, as a community retailer and a co-operative, they will play their part in local life too."
