Sainsbury’s teams up with Tesla to offer electric car chargers
Tesla has opened three new Supercharger stations at Sainsbury’s supermarkets in the south of England.
Tesla said the new additions are located at Sainsbury’s Badger Farm in Winchester, Sainsbury’s Pinhoe Road in Exeter, and Sainsbury’s East Filton in Stoke Gifford and offer free supercharging facilities for Supercharger-enabled vehicles.
Sainsbury’s head of sustainability Paul Crewe said: “I’m delighted to see these new facilities at our stores, making it easier than ever for customers to use electric vehicles, charging as they shop.”
Tesla’s UK country director Georg Ell said: “We’re excited to partner with Sainsbury’s to continue the expansion of the country’s fast-charging network for long-distance travel in electric cars.
“With Sainsbury’s, Model S drivers can stop for a charge, use the Supermarket café, do a quick shop and get on their way again.”
