About David

I have worked at Access Point since 1999 rising to the giddy heights of CEO which I believe is more to get me out of the way of making day-to-day decisions rather than ability! I do still feel that I have a hands on approach to running the company and setting the strategic direction. I liaise with retailers and landlords, providing them with support, conceiving and arranging new projects, manage contract negotiations, set budgets, do store visits and visits to corporate clients. My main work achievement, when looking back, was signing the original Safeway contract, which kick started Access Point. I love my job and the people I work with – we have created a special environment where we can have a laugh whilst working hard.

Why Yosemite Sam?

"I chose Yosemite Sam as he was always one of my favourite characters when I was young. I also identify with his never say die attitude and his tenaciousness when confronted by adversity"


Despite my advancing years I still am fairly active, as ex-military I enjoy anything adventurous such as scuba diving, parachuting, dog sledding – I’ll give most things a go. I have four wonderful kids and just been made a grandad for the first time!
